'Katha' is a pack of romance, thrill & entertainment is what would have been your expectations by looking at the posters created for marketing the much hyped movie but ends up to be a great disaster.
Another uninspired movie to follow 'Arya 2' which didnot meet the expectations of the audience.
Performance of Genelia & Arun was okay but not phenominal.
'Katha' a slow track of murder, flashback and twist.
Genelia plays the character of 'Chitra' a school teacher who comes to Araku and stays in Mantra house (the same house as in the movie Mantra)
Arun Aidt plays the character of 'Krishna' an aspiring director, who comes to the same place with his team & friends to make a movie.
'Chitra' is disturbed with creepy things that happen around her. She acts little mad when she is alone at the house.She happens to witness a murder and complaints about the same to the police, but the police and her boyfriend doesnt believe her. She remains mad for an year, with the scare thoughts hunting her mind. The Director ensures that he doesn`t scare the audience with banging noises, creepy music and scarring faces as anyone does, in the so called thriller movies, is a new attempt and is welcomed.
Performance
Genelia has given her best to do justice to the film, but her role in the film is not inspiring
Arun Adit has to work a lot on his expressions, body language, posture etc if he is planning to make a mark in the movie industry
Prakashraj has justified his role and made his presence felt as he always does in any movie
Other supporting characters like Raghu Babu, Shafi, Tulasi, Jayalalitha, C.M.Kalyan were playing a regular role and contributed to their best to the movie
'Katha' an interesting concept which ended up as a dud at the box office
