The Congress leaders in the State woke up from slumber and realized that they can not simply rule out Praja Rajyam. They realized this only after Megastar Chiranjeevi toured the three north coastal Andhra districts. 

Having seen the heavy turn out of the youth for the star’s meetings, the Congress leaders are now contemplating on holding similar yatras as a show of strength. The Chief Minister Dr Y S Rajasekhar Reddy had asked the Minister Botsa Satyanarayana, to plan a programme that should beat out the PRP’s Praja Ankita Yatra.

It is also being considered to field Y S Jaganmohan Reddy in the three districts to counter Chiranjeevi’s image. Jagan is emerging as crow puller for the Congress with the Youth Congress leaders forming his fans associations like that of the film stars. Though the Congress initially thought that Jagan would be a match to counter Pawan Kalyan and Nandamuri brothers, it is now being considered to field him against Chiranjeevi.

The AICC incharge, Veerappa Moily, had already indicated that the Congress does not require fielding YS against Chiranjeevi. “Chiranjeevi is too small to field YS against him” is what the AICC leader meant. 

Whether it would be YS or Jagan, the Congress is serious on holding a rally in the three north coastal districts to show its strength to the people and prove that the ruling party is much stronger.
